About me

Rene William Ngabo, is a rwandan digital assistive technology and disability inclusion enthusiast who holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Education and Masters degree in Special Needs Education.

He has a background in IT and he’s the founder of Rwanda Assistive Technology Access (RATA), a registered non-governmental organization in Rwanda founded in January 2018 with vision of contributing to a society where persons with disabilities are able to study through the use of Assistive Technology in order to live independently.

Rene is also passionate about what ICT can offer the community (digital champion) specifically spreading digital literacy, creating local relevant tools, and making technology accessible to everyone (Digital Inclusion).

He often contributes in his country to different initiatives mostly regarding accessible ICTs for persons with disabilities and was a trainee and digital ambassador at Digital Opportunity Trust (2017-2018). He is also a social Impact Incubator Rwanda Champion 2022.
