About me

Shira Grossman is the VP of Legal Affairs at UserWay, the world’s leading digital accessibility AI software and services provider. In her role, Shira established and leads UserWay’s Legal Department, managing the company’s internal legal affairs, as well as these essential digital accessibility legal research and advocacy initiatives:

  • Legal Intelligence Group (LIG): A team of seasoned international lawyers and tech-savvy professionals vigilantly tracking global digital accessibility regulations and data on digital accessibility litigation. Our mission is to analyze, curate, and deliver this crucial information and data through innovative channels, keeping businesses' decision-makers, legal counsel and accessibility product teams informed and compliant, and ensuring a reliable source of truth for lawmakers and media.

  • Legal Support Program (LSP): The only attorney-led program supporting businesses threatened with or served with a digital accessibility lawsuit in the US. Like LIG, this is a collaborative endeavor uniting experienced lawyers, technology experts, and accessibility specialists to support businesses facing legal challenges. LSP is not only focused on ensuring optimal legal outcomes for these businesses, but also on placing them on a strategic path towards implementing robust accessibility plans. This dual focus aims to foster a more inclusive digital environment while safeguarding businesses' legal interests.

Shira arrived at UserWay with over two decades of experience as a commercial litigator and employment attorney, including leadership roles as a law firm partner, department head of an international law firm, and outside general counsel in New York and Georgia, where she is licensed to practice. Her career highlights include litigating across the US, including being named counsel in 21 court and regulatory opinions, many of which were published in the New York Law Journal.  In the last several years of her litigation career, Shira defended domestic and international companies facing web accessibility litigation, solidifying her reputation as a digital accessibility law strategist and advocate championing the equality of the disability community.
