Melanie Hawkes

Melanie works two days a week in Media and Corporate Communications for the Western Australian Department of Fire and Emergency Services, and is the Associate Director for Physical Disability Australia - a non-profit organisation that is run by people with disabilities for people with physical disabilities. She graduated from Murdoch University with a double major in Japanese and Communication Studies in 2000 and worked as a Japanese interpreter. Melanie is also a Usability Analyst for AdWebKey, testing websites and documents for compatibility with her assistive technology. She loves socialising with friends and family and attending concerts and events, as well as being home and looking after her retired assistance dog, Upton.
