About me
I am a teacher who worked in special schools for many years before devoting my time and energy to the development of more inclusive education. Since 2007 I have been the Director of the Centre for Studies on Inclusive Education (CSIE, www.csie.org.uk), a UK charity founded in 1982, working to develop more inclusive education for all, and to protect disabled children’s right to a good education in their local community_._ I am also Honorary Research Associate at the University of Bristol. I have previously worked as teacher in a number of special schools, Senior Portage Home Visitor, inclusion teacher, early years liaison teacher and Area SENCo (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator), freelance trainer, and lecturer in Further and Higher education.
