About

Guatemalan, Bachelor of Education with a degree in Education for hearing impaired children from the Universidad Del Valle de Guatemala. I obtained a Master's Degree in Multiple Disabilities and Deafblindness from Universidad Latina de Costa Rica and a Diploma in Leadership in Deafblindness and Blindness with Multiple Disabilities from Perkins School for Blind.

She has worked as an internal consultant for FUNDAL for 24 years.

She currently works in the CBM (Cristoffel Blinden Mission) office in Guatemala as a program officer for Guatemala and Central America, works as a consultant for Perkins International, Professor in the Department of Inclusive Education at the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala, Visiting Professor in the Master of Special Education with a specialization in Education for people with Multiple Disabilities at the Universidad Politécnica Salesiana Ecuador, Interpreter in Guatemalan Sign Language - Lensegua-, and has worked as a teacher in the Department of Inclusive Education at the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala.

Within her work experience she has been a teacher of students with hearing impairment, visual impairment, deafblindness and multiple disabilities, she was Director of the Educational Center and Director of Educational Programs of FUNDAL. She has participated as a speaker in different International Conferences ICEVI, DBI, RELAPRED. She has participated incorporating the situation of people with disabilities in the DAKAR and UPR reports for the United Nations and coordinated the Disability Observatory in Guatemala.

CBM has worked for more than 40 years in Latin America. Today, from its operational and administrative base in Guatemala City, it implements initiatives in Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua in alliance with 17 partner organizations, so that people with disabilities enjoy their fundamental rights and reach their full potential in life.
