About me

I am an astrophysicist interested in harnessing our perception of sound to improve our understanding of data, for research education and outreach. I'm particularly interesting in using multimodal approaches to improve accessibility and inclusion in STEM. I'm developing the STRAUSS code (https://github.com/james-trayford/strauss)) as a python toolkit for sonifying data, as a well as a number of applications powered by STRAUSS, currently supported by an STFC "Early Stage Research & Development" award.
