About

Roos Sprangers

As an inclusive education advisor at Liliane Foundation, I passionately strive to make inclusive, equitable and quality education possible for all - this greatly benefits our society and each individual. My background in education and experience as an expert on inclusive education and early childhood education in low- and middle-income countries, enables me to commit myself to this cause wholeheartedly.

I am committed to promoting inclusive, play-based early childhood education as a foundation for inclusive primary education, and it naturally enhances lifelong learning opportunities and social cohesion.

Grateful for Liliane Foundation recognition as a knowledge broker-expert organisation, I proudly accept the award for a proven, innovative, impactful and scalable project approach to inclusive education in Vietnam, together with our partner organisation RCI. It is exciting to participate in the Zero Project conference because this is a great event to learn, connect and share Liliane Foundations' successful inclusive education approach with a global network.

My organisation

The Liliane Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and youngsters with disabilities in low- and middle income countries. We work in partnership with local organizations to provide access to quality healthcare, education, employment and social support for these children through a community based rehabilitation approach.

We dream of a world in which children and young people with a disability are equal and can participate in society to the best of their abilities. Together with our local partner organisations in Africa, Asia, and Latin America, we make children’s living, playing, and learning environment more accessible. We improve their quality of life by creating opportunities for them in the present and future. Participation is not a privilege – it is a right.

We believe in the power of inclusive societies that enable children and young people with a disability in developing countries to fully participate.
