About me
Arman Ali is a champion for disability rights in India, having worked for over two decades in influencing legislation and policies for empowerment of people with disabilities. Serving in advisory roles with the Election Commission of India, National Human Rights Commission, Ministry of Social Justice of Empowerment, Arman is responsible for advancing the vision of NCPEDP - of building a society where people with disabilities are equal members leading dignified lives through economic independence. Having worked in the development sector with diversified leadership roles, Arman is on the mission to create an inclusive society where no one is left behind. Under Arman’s leadership, NCPEDP launched ‘Javed Abidi Fellowship for Youth with Disabilities ’a first-of-its-kind’ initiative in the country wherein 25 fellows with disabilities have been chosen to work towards contributing evidence-based collection of advocacy efforts, experience and effects to the cause of disability in a pluralistic manner. A thinker, leader and doer with an intense passion for inclusion and accessibility, Arman has brought a fresh and rational approach to disability rights movement in India. A change-maker, gifted with knowledge, vision and oratory, Arman is result-oriented. A graduate in IT, Arman frequently features on national and international print publications and television channels. A flag-bearer of Disability Rights, Arman Ali has been a strong voice of disabled persons since the beginning of his career. His pursuit of equality and dignity for persons with disabilities took him to the organizations where his exemplary endeavors were instrumental to the cause. Under the leadership of Arman Ali, NCPEDP has been proactively engaged in fundraising for the organization and provided relief support to 1000 persons with disabilities including their families during the first wave of COVID- 19 pandemic. Further, a study titled ‘Locked Down and Left Behind’ was conducted to understand the status of persons with disabilities vis-à-vis COVID-19. National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People (NCPEDP) is a cross-disability, not-for-profit organization working with a range of stakeholders; to advocate for the rights of persons with disability along with encouraging their employment; increasing public awareness; creating and disseminating knowledge, information, and opportunities; and working towards easy and convenient access to all public places, products, services, and technologies. Personal On a relatively free day Arman enjoys swimming and watching movies. He is an avid shooter. Arman is well versed in English, Hindi, Bengali and Assamese. At NCPEDP, we are a leading non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities in India. With our strong network of disabled persons' organizations and strategic partnerships, we actively work towards creating an inclusive society that ensures equal opportunities and accessibility for all. Through our various programs and initiatives, we advocate for policy changes, raise awareness, and empower individuals with disabilities to achieve their full potential.
