About me
I am Makayiko Kayimba now 48, married with one child, a boy 16. Originally from Malawi, lives in Malawi and went to school in Malawi in all levels expect master's level, MBA which was done in Durban, South Africa. I have worked as a high school teacher, head teacher, and also worked in a hospital as HIV/AIDS Coordinator. Lastly, I have been working for World Vision Malawi in different positions and sectors. Currently, works in education department supervising 13 technical staff with an annual budget $2 million.
I have led the education development project management in 10 Districts and with over 15 years’ experience in community project management in Malawi and Sub-Sahara. I have also lead a Child Protection sector in Ebola response in 2015 in Sierra Leone.
I am a member of World Vision Malawi's National Disaster Management Team as well as the Southern Africa Disaster Management Team.
I am also a member of the World Vision team that coaches and supports gender and child protection facilitators in the southern African region.
In my spare time, I'm interested in learning more about organic farming and programs for forest regeneration. Furthermore, in studying interior design. I like to go on walks and play golf.
