Julie de Barbeyrac is a Senior Advisor for the Accessible Digital Textbooks for the Programme Group- Education at UNICEF Headquarters. Since 2017, she has been the lead Program Manager of the innovative “Accessible Digital Textbooks for All” initiative for the Disability section at UNICEF NYHQ and LACRO. Before this, she worked with the Protection Section on MHPSS at UNICEF.
She is a disability-inclusive and SEL consultant for various organisations such as Inclusive Development Partners, UNESCO and DED-Disability Education and Development. Prior to UNICEF, Julie worked as the international relations coordinator and Early Child Development (ECD) expert at the Instituto Alana, an NGO working on children’s rights in Brazil. She was also a MHPSS and care practices program manager in emergencies with Action Against Hunger (ACF) in Haiti and Myanmar.
Julie holds a master’s in Community Health (MSc.), a degree in Occupational Therapy and a minor in Psychology from the University of Montreal. A dual French and Canadian citizen, she speaks four languages: French, English, Spanish and Portuguese. Julie is the proud mother of three children and is based in Hong Kong.
