About me

Yardena Gerwin graduated from Middlebury College and is now a Gates-Cambridge Scholar pursuing an MPhil in Health, Medicine, and Society. At Middlebury, Yardena was an independent scholar in disability studies and social determinants of health and used her academic research methodologies and theories of disability to interview people with disabilities in corporate positions. Her research at Cambridge will focus on the bridge between university and career for students with disabilities. She previously worked as a disability policy fellow in the U.S. Senate, and prior to that as a summer intern at the American Association for People with Disabilities (AAPD).

Within Cambridge, the MPhil in Health, Medicine and Society introduces to research skills and specialist knowledge relevant to their interests, and provides them with the opportunity to carry out focused research under close supervision by senior members of the University. Students in this program develop a critical and well-informed understanding of discourses of history, philosophy, sociology and anthropology of health and medicine.
