Jesús Arenas is manager of Youth Engagement at Special Olympics Latin America, working to provide spaces that enhance the abilities of youth with and without intellectual disabilities in and out of the sports venues and classrooms.
Born and raised in Panama, in his work experience he has worked with other organizations related to the recognition of diversity and promotion of inclusion, such as the Scout Movement, developing and applying diversity and inclusion policies and guidelines in the region.
He is a graduate of the University of Panama with a Master's Degree in Education in Sexuality, Population and Human Development with a Gender Approach.
His experience, studies and personal conviction, make him a person who contributes to the empowerment and capacity building of youth to be a voice, action, inspiration and basis for building a more just and equitable society for all.

In this session, innovative models are presented how mainstream schools can include children with all types of disabilities in sports lessons and activities, with Special Olympics pioneering many of these models.
Escuelas Unificadas by Special Olympics Latin America: Promotes inclusive environments through sports and leadership activities for children with and without intellectual disabilities. Implemented in seven countries for over 16,000 participants by 2023.
